The Bridge

A bold project
A Tibetan-style suspension bridge without lateral stabilizing cables that holds the European record for height
A direct connection between Campo and Maggengo Frasnino
In 2016, the footbridge project was launched: a daring Tibetan-style suspension bridge connecting Campo with the Frasnino mountain pasture, modeled after other highly successful projects in Switzerland and Austria.
From the Tibetan bridge, you can admire the spectacular scenery of our beloved mountains: the Campo Pass, the imposing peaks and glaciers of the Rhaetian Alps, the green Orobic Valley, the Colombera Dam, the picturesque Frasnino mountain pasture, and the opening of the Valtellina valley floor, which leads to Lake Como and its unforgettable sunsets.
The consortium members—valley residents and other dear friends, all united by a love for the mountains—have, using their own resources, made possible the construction of this great project, which will help ensure that the small but beautiful Alpine valley of Valtellina is not left to fend for itself. The financial and human effort required to support its construction was undertaken in the spirit of the ancient consortia: the joining of forces of many people toward a worthy, shared common goal.
